Course is approved by the food safety commission in Malta as per Legal Notice 178/2001
ONLINE COURSE OUTLINE:

The basic food hygiene course in Malta, involves all the stages of the food production with special attention to those who at some point come into contact with food.

This includes hotels, catering establishments, supermarkets etc.

The focus of the course is to gain more awareness on the culprits of food poisoning, malpractices at the workplace and general food hygiene and labelling procedures.
 

All applicants shall under go a series of learning objectives which will finally lead them to examination.
Upon completion of the objectives laid down by this platform, graduate students will be granted a Food Handlers License A or B respectively, approved by the Malta Food Safety Commission.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

This basic food hygiene course is divided into 10 lessons (listed below). Upon completion of every lesson, students will find a verification test which needs to be taken in order to progress to the next level/lesson.

RECIPIENTS OF THE COURSE:

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

All applicants shall undergo a series of learning objectives which will finally lead them to examination. Upon completion of the objectives laid down by this platform, graduate students will be granted a Food Handlers License A or B respectively, approved by the Malta Food Safety Commission.

CERTIFICATION:

An attendance certificate and a food handler’s identification card will be given to all attendees upon completion of the course. These will have an expiration date 5 years from the completion date of the course. Once the 5 years have gone by, a refreshers course is required.
Certification and the issuing of the cards are normally provided within 5 days.

These will be accredited by the food safety commission as per Legal Notice 178/2001
